    • Professor Akinlawon Ladipo Mabogunje

      Professor Akinlawon Ladipo Mabogunje CON, NNOM, CFR

    He is the Chairman Board of Trustees. He attended U.N.A. African Church School, Kano (1937-1942), Ibadan Grammar School (1943-1948) for Secondary School Education and University College Ibadan (1949-1953) where he obtained a Bachelor Degree.  He proceeded to University College London from 1954-1958. He was a teacher at Ibadan Grammar School from 1953-1954 and later joined University as a Teacher from 1958-1981 where he became a Professor, thereafter he worked as Consultant in 1981.


    Professor Mabogunje was at various times Chairman of the following institutions to mention a few: Development Policy Centre, Community Bank, Presidential Task Force on Housing and Development, Mega City, and Unity Bank. Professor Mabogunje in 2014 won Nigeria Centenary Award.

    Professor Adebayo Adedeji

    Professor Adebayo Adedeji, CFR

    He is a member of Board of Trustees. He attended St. Saviours School Italupe, Ijebu-Ode (1940-43) and Ijebu-Ode Grammar School (1944-49) for Secondary School Education. He attended the University College Ibadan (1953-54), University College Lancaster 1955-58, and proceeded to Havard University USA (1960-61). 


    He joined the Nigeria Civil Service and later became a University. Don at University of Ife where he became a Professor. Professor Adedeji was appointed Federal Minister for Economic Development and Reconstruction. He became Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Chief Executive Economic Commission for Africa until his retirement.  He is presently the Executive Director of African Centre for Development and Strategic Studies (ACDESS).

    Chief Olu Okuboyejo, MNIM, JP

    He is a Trustee of the Board and also the former Chairman of the Board after the pioneer Chairman, Chief A.A.K. Degun, CON. He was also a Member of the Follow-Up Committee. Chief Okuboyejo was the Treasurer and Chairman, Loans Committee of the Board for seven and half years. He attended Hussey College, Warri, Delta State 1949-53.  He later attended Holborn College of Law, London, UK between 1960-63 where he obtained his LLB and B.L. 


    He is a retired Civil Servant and banker and presently a practicing Solicitor and Advocate. He was a Permanent Secretary in the Ogun State Civil Service, Executive Director (Administration) in Wema Bank Plc and Managing Director in Metropolitan Merchant Bank Limited. Director in several Statutory Boards and Corporations of the Federal Government and the former Western State of Nigeria. He was a Director of JOSEDAM SUGAR CO. LTD, Chairman Nigerian Bar Association, Ijebu-Ode Branch 2002-2006 and a Non-Executive Director of the University Press Plc. Chief Okuboyejo holds the Chieftaincy title of Obasewa of Ijebu.

Professor Alausa, Kamil Olanipekun

He is the current Chairman of the Initiative. Professor Alausa earlier served the Chairman, Medical & Health Committee of the Initiative for many years. He was admitted into the Premier University in the Country – the University of Ibadan – in Sept, 1964 where he obtained B.Med.Sc. in Medical Microbiology in 1967 and M.B.B.S. degree in June, 1970. He passed the Examination Council for Foreign Medical Graduates, (E.C.F.M.G.), U.S.A in Sept, 1970. He was awarded the Postgraduate Diploma in Bacteriology by University of Manchester, UK in June, 1973 and later obtained the Postgraduate Certificate in Immunology from University of Ibadan in 1974. He was appointed Lecturer I/Consultant in 1974 and later promoted to the grade of Senior Lecturer in 1976. In 1975 he obtained the Professional Certificate on Investigation, Surveillance and Control of Communicable Disease from the Department of Public Health Laboratory Service, UK. In 1976, he was awarded the International Certificate in Epidemiology by the World Health Organization (WHO). He obtained Doctor of medicine (M. D. degree) from the University of Ibadan and also MPH Degree (Epidemiology and Tropical Public Health) from Harvard University, USA in the same year. In 1979 he became a fellow of the West African College of Physicians in Pathology (FWACP). Also in 1992 he was elected a fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in Public Health. He obtained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists in UK in 1991.

He was appointed as a Professor of Community Medicine by the University of Ilorin in March 1980 and joined the Service of Ogun State University (now Olabisi Onabanjo Uni.) in Sept. 1985. Professor Alausa was Chief Medical Director in two Teaching Hospitals: University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital in 1985 and Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu between 1990 and 1992 respectively. He was the Registrar, National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria, Lagos 1992-1998, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics) Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye 2005 to 2007 and Director of Academic Planning between 2005 and 2007. He retired in August 2008. He was awarded the Distinguished Fellowship (DFMC) of the National Postgraduate Medical College in September 2016.

Professor Abeke Adesanya

She is the Secretary and Chairperson of the Training Committee of the Board. She was a member of the Follow-up Committee. She trained as a Confidential Secretary in the defunct Western Nigeria and rose through the ranks in that career in the Western and Ogun State Civil Service until 1979 when she obtained a Certificate in Education from Garnett College of the University of London. She later proceeded to Hull University, England for her Advanced Diploma and Master of Arts (Education) degrees respectively. She thereafter joined Ogun State University as Assistant Lecturer in 1984. In 1991, she bagged the PhD Degree of the University of Ibadan in Adult and Philosophy of Education. Ever since she has been deeply involved in the areas of Curriculum, Women and Community Education. She belongs to various academic organizations, such as Nigeria Participatory Rural Appraisal Networks (NIPRANET), Curriculum Organization of Nigeria (CON), Philosophy of Education Association (PEAN) and African Association of Women for Research and Development (AAWORD).

Professor Abeke Adesanya is a Professor in the Faculty of Education, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye. She is a grantee of FAWE and also the Iya Ewe of St. Andrew’s Anglican Parish Church, Imoru.


Mr. Oyenuga Bandele Adekoya


He is the Treasurer and the Chairman of Finance Committee. He went to Farnborough College of Technology Farnborough, Hants U. K for his HND in Accounting in 1973 He graduated from Bryany College Smithfield, Rhode Island, USA for his MBA in Finance and Economics. He was a Financial Controller, Delfra Nigeria Ltd, Ibadan, Oyo State between 1989-2003 and a Coordinator at Linpack Infotech, Biz Solutions (Oyo and Ogun States) between 2004-2008. Presently, he is the CEO Beehive Properties Nigeria Ltd.

Mr. Marcus Adegbenro Adeniyi

Mr. Marcus Adegbenro Adeniyi

Mr. Adeniyi is a robust and multi-disciplinary professional.  He holds Nigerian Certificate in Education with bias in Agricultural Science and Geography, (1989) Bachelor of Education in Guidance and Counseling/Geography (1997). He bags Post Graduate Diploma in Data Processing, 1998 and Master Degree in Public Administration (2004).  He has also undertaken special external courses and on-the-job training in personnel, finance, public relations, management and poverty reduction matter etc. He is a member of Certified Board of Administrators (MCBA) and also he is a Fellow, Chartered Institute of Sustainable Development and Management Science. 

Mr. Adeniyi started his enviable career as a teacher at Primary School, Secondary School and Polytechnic.  He joined Development Policy Centre, Ibadan as Project Coordinator (Research Assistant) in 1998, he co-ordinated the prestigious Ijebu-Ode City Consultation on Poverty Reduction Outreach in March 22nd -   24th 1999.

After the City Consultation, he emerged as the pioneer Administrative Manager who was responsible for the Management of Ijebu-Ode Development Board on Poverty Reduction Board which transformed to Ijebu Development Initiative on Poverty Reduction.  Following his extra-ordinary devotion to duty, sense of responsibility and of course high performance, Mr. Adeniyi became the Programme Manager of the Board in August 2006. In December, 2007 he was promoted as first Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Initiative. As COO he’s responsible for the Implementation of Management Policies of the Initiative, General Day-to-Day Administration and Financial Control of the Initiative. He was again promoted in October, 2016 as the Pioneer General Manager (GM) of the Initiative.

Mrs. Abiodun Oluranti Adekoya

Mrs. Abiodun Oluranti Adekoya

She is the Accountant of the Board. She holds Bachelor of Science in Accounting (2004) and Diploma in Marketing (1998) both at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye. She started Community/Public Service with Ajose Community Bank Ltd as the Account Clerk in 1992 and rose to the post of the Accountant until her exist in 2009. Mrs. Adekoya attended special courses organized by the Central Bank of Nigeria on Bank Returns Fund Management and Micro Loan Management etc. She joined IDIPR in January, 2009 as the Accountant in charge of Loans. Presently, She is the Head of Finance and Accounts Department.
